The US Navy announced the expansion of the “Tomahawk” cruise missile modernization program and signed a contract worth 380.8 million dollars with Raytheon for this purpose.

The contract also provides for the use of interchangeable parts and modules, which allows for the rapid restoration of missile combat capability when needed.
The purpose of the modernization is to extend the service life of “Tomahawk” missiles by at least three years after the completion of the work and to maintain them as one of the primary assets for long-range strikes by the US Navy.
