Horrific figures regarding the number of deaths during the mass protests held in Iran in December-January have been announced.
Modern.az reports that "Time" magazine has published information on this matter.
Citing high-ranking officials from the Iranian Ministry of Health, the publication wrote that the number of deaths in the clashes that occurred on January 8 and 9 could reach 30,000 people.
The article notes that during those 2 days, as a result of the violence used by security forces against protesters, hospitals ran out of p bags. According to witnesses and officials, due to the insufficient number of ambulances for transporting bodies, tractor trailers and large trucks were used.
It should be noted that the aforementioned figures sharply contradict the official statistics of the Iranian government. Iran's Foreign Minister, Seyed Abbas Araqchi, stated that 3,117 people died during the riots, 690 of whom were identified as “terrorists.”
