As a possible US attack on Iran is anticipated, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic, Ali Khamenei, has moved to an underground shelter.
Modern.az reports that, according to Israeli media, Khamenei is moving from one underground shelter to another within a network of bunkers used by himself and high-ranking officials of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (SEPAH).
According to reports, Khamenei also hid in the bunker during the 12-day war he waged with Israel last year.
It is noted that during the 12-day war, Israel seriously considered killing Khamenei. Israeli intelligence, aware of the existence of a network of secure facilities, actively searched for his location.
Now, considering that a new threat has emerged to his life, Khamenei has once again retreated to a reinforced underground complex connected by a network of tunnels. Israeli media has pointed to a specific area called Lavizan (northeast of Tehran), where one of the safest bunkers is located and where Khamenei has moved with his family.
According to reports, this network of bunkers was built by SEPAH and is located approximately 90-100 meters deep. The bunker where Khamenei is hiding is considered safer than the Fordow nuclear facility and is designed to withstand direct bomb impacts.
