Strategic Message from Tokayev for the Turkic World: The international conference “Great Altai – Ancestral Homeland of the Turks” will be held in Kazakhstan.
Modern.az reports that Kazakhstan's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, in his extensive speech at the 5th National Kurultai, announced a new initiative of significant importance for the historical memory and cultural heritage of the Turkic world. President Tokayev emphasized that the systematic and scientific study of the roots of Turkic history, culture, and civilization is one of the main priorities of state policy.
In this context, Tokayev announced that an international scientific conference on the theme “Great Altai – Ancestral Homeland of the Turks” will be organized in Kazakhstan in September. The main objective of the conference is to scientifically investigate the origins, common history, linguistic unity, and cultural heritage of Turkic peoples in relation to the Altai region, and to present these findings on an international academic platform.
The President noted in his speech that the Altai Mountains hold a special place in the history of the Turkic world, and this geography is considered not only a mythical memory but also one of the formation centers of Turkic civilization through historical sources, archaeological findings, and linguistic research. In this regard, the conference will make a significant contribution to a deeper understanding of the common past of the Turkic world.
The international event, hosted by Kazakhstan, is expected to see the participation of historians, scholars, researchers, and academic institutions from various countries around the world, alongside Turkic states. Scientific presentations, panel discussions, and thematic sessions will be organized within the framework of the conference.
This initiative further strengthens Kazakhstan's claim to cultural and scientific leadership in the Turkic world. Official Astana aims, through such projects, to reinforce common historical consciousness among Turkic peoples, expand scientific cooperation, and promote a more comprehensive recognition of Turkic civilization on a global scale.
The millennial heritage of the Altai will be presented to the international community under Kazakhstan's hosting, serving to form strong spiritual and scientific foundations for the common future of the Turkic world.
