The Armenian Prosecutor's Office demands the confiscation of 1.57 billion dollars worth of assets from former high-ranking officials.

Modern.az reports, citing local media, that Armenian courts are hearing 155 lawsuits demanding the return of illegally acquired assets against former officials and their family members, including former President Robert Kocharyan, former Yerevan Mayor Gagik Beglaryan, former MP Gagik Tsarukyan, former head of the Tax Committee Gagik Khachatryan, former police chief Vladimir Gasparyan, former ambassador for special assignments Lev Sargsyan, and others.

According to Deputy Prosecutor General Edgar Arsenyan, the total amount demanded in all these lawsuits amounts to 595.8 billion drams (approximately 1.57 billion dollars). The Prosecutor's Office demands the return to the state of 324 movable properties, 1463 immovable properties, shares in 440 legal entities, as well as 518.4 billion drams in monetary terms.
