Modern.az reports, citing foreign media, that the woman gave birth to a child in December 2025 whose appearance differed significantly from that of the parents. A DNA test confirmed that there was no genetic relationship between the couple and the baby.
The couple concluded that an error had occurred during embryo transfer and filed a lawsuit against the clinic.
The parents stated that their embryos might have been mistakenly transferred to other patients at the clinic.
The couple demands that all clients whose embryos are stored at the clinic be informed and provided with free genetic tests for the past five years. They also intend to find the biological parents of the newborn.
The clinic, in turn, stated that they are cooperating with the investigation to determine the cause of the incident.
