The US will abandon the Russia-Ukraine talks process on May 15 if they do not yield results.
Modern.az reports that this was stated by Ukrainian Rada deputy Aleksey Goncharenko.
"If we do not reach an agreement, they will withdraw from the negotiation process and completely abandon this issue," the deputy wrote.
According to him, the main reason for this is the midterm elections to be held in the US in November 2026.
The Trump administration's approach to these elections with an unresolved conflict is related to the possibility of Republicans becoming a target for Democrats.
