According to the source, Washington's plans may change, and the process depends on “one person's decision.” This refers to US President Donald Trump.
The publication writes that Israeli authorities have previously informed foreign airlines about increased risks in the region's airspace on January 31 and February 1. This step is assessed as preparation for possible military operation scenarios.
Sources from the "Middle East Eye" publication had previously reported that the US could strike Iran this week. Although these sources noted that the date of the attack could change, they claimed that the targets of possible strikes could be high-ranking officials and military commanders linked to the deaths of protesters in Iran.
Mass protests began in Iran at the end of December amidst a sharp depreciation of the national currency and rapidly rising prices. Iranian authorities confirmed that 3,100 people died during the protests. "Time" magazine, citing sources in the Iranian Ministry of Health, wrote that the number of deaths could reach 30,000. Official Tehran announced on January 21 that the unrest had been suppressed.
