The US Central Command (CENTCOM) has launched large-scale Air Force exercises in the Middle East region.
Modern.az reports that CENTCOM has issued a statement regarding this.
The exercises coincide with a period when tensions in the region have reached their peak, and US air and naval forces have concentrated to an unprecedented degree.
According to military experts, the military force package formed by the Pentagon in the Middle East surpasses the forces that participated in the Iraq campaigns carried out by the US during both the George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush eras.
In a statement released by CENTCOM, it was announced that the US Air Force Central Command will conduct combat readiness exercises lasting several days. The objective is to demonstrate the command's capabilities to deploy, disperse, and support combat aviation throughout its area of responsibility.
CENTCOM's area of responsibility includes the entire Middle East from Egypt to Iran, including Israel, as well as areas in Central Asia from Turkmenistan and Pakistan up to Kazakhstan.
Israeli media notes that the possibility of these exercises later turning into potential attacks on strategic targets of the Iranian regime could cause serious concern in Tehran. However, US President Donald Trump has not taken a clear stance on this scenario.
Trump stated on Monday that the US has amassed “a large armada” near Iran, and these forces have been put into motion. According to him, these steps were taken because Washington believes Tehran is ready for negotiations.
The US President refused to discuss possible military options and emphasized that diplomacy still prevails. “They want a deal, I know that. They have called several times. They want to negotiate,” Trump noted.
