Nikolay Molodnyakov, the designer of Russian military armored vehicles, has died at the age of 88.

Molodnyakov began his career as a research engineer and worked at "Uralvagonzavod" for 66 years. He participated in the development, acceptance, and modernization of the designs of T-72 and T-90 tanks, including the development of the first version of the T-90 and the organization of its serial production.
The designer also supervised the improvement of the armor and armament of these vehicles.
Later, Nikolay Molodnyakov participated in the promotion of tanks for export and led the foreign trials of T-72S and T-90S tanks. At his initiative, the first dynamic demonstration of the T-90S took place at the IDEX exhibition in 1997.
Molodnyakov was a laureate of two Russian government awards, a Candidate of Technical Sciences, and a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Missile and Artillery Sciences.
