The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) has launched an antitrust investigation into Netflix's plan to acquire Warner Bros Discovery and HBO Max. The Wall Street Journal reported this.
Modern.az, citing foreign media, writes that the U.S. Department of Justice is investigating whether Netflix has used anti-competitive practices, and whether the aforementioned deal would excessively increase the streaming service's market power or lead to the formation of a monopoly.
It should be noted that previously, the VZGLYAD newspaper had reported that Netflix intended to acquire Warner Bros film studio for $82.7 billion.
