Iran announced that possible agreements regarding energy, mining, and even aircraft purchases were discussed in talks with the US.
Modern.az reports that Hamid Ghanbari, an official for economic diplomacy at the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated this.
According to him, any agreement reached should bring rapid and concrete economic benefits for both sides. The official noted that options for cooperation in oil and gas fields, joint energy projects, mining investments, and civil aviation are on the negotiation table.
The next meeting between the parties is scheduled to take place on Tuesday in Geneva. The talks are aimed at resolving the long-standing dispute over the nuclear program between the two countries and preventing possible military escalation. Oman is acting as a mediator.
Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht-Ravanchi told the BBC that Tehran is ready for certain compromises regarding its nuclear program in exchange for the lifting of sanctions. He stated that the option of diluting highly enriched uranium could be discussed, but emphasized that the demand for zero enrichment would not be accepted.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, however, stated that President Donald Trump prefers a diplomatic solution, but alternative scenarios are also being considered if no results are achieved.
It should be recalled that Washington unilaterally withdrew from the nuclear agreement signed in 2015 in 2018, and severe economic sanctions against Tehran were reinstated.
