Russia's Taman port has been damaged as a result of an attack carried out by a Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle.

Modern.az reports that the “Reuters” agency disseminated information about this.

According to the information, Russia's Taman port, located on the Black Sea coast and used for the transportation of oil products, grain, coal, and other cargo, was damaged during an attack in the Krasnodar region. The region's governor, Veniamin Kondratyev, stated on his “Telegram” channel that as a result of the attack, an oil storage tank, a warehouse, and terminals in the port area located in the village of Volna were damaged. Two people were injured during the incident.

According to him, more than 100 employees were involved in extinguishing several fires that occurred at the port.

The governor added that separate strikes on the resort city of Sochi and the village of Yurovka near Anapa resulted in less extensive damage.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced on Sunday that it had struck the Taman port complex. The information notes that after the expiration of the moratorium, which was achieved through US mediation and limited attacks on energy infrastructure, Kyiv has recently intensified its attacks on Russian energy facilities.

The Russian side, in turn, has repeatedly targeted Ukraine's energy and utility infrastructure during the war. As a result, hundreds of thousands of people were deprived of heating and electricity during the winter season.

According to industry sources, approximately 4.16 million tons of oil products were exported through the Taman port last year.
