A significant number of soldiers have been killed as a result of a terrorist act in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

Modern.az reports that Pakistani media released information about this on Tuesday, citing local authorities.

The newspaper, citing the press service of the Pakistan Armed Forces, stated that "11 security personnel were killed as a result of a car bomb explosion at a checkpoint in the Bajaur district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province".

Another 7 people, including women and children, were injured.

Pakistani authorities believe that supporters of the banned "Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan" movement are behind the terrorist attack.

According to the information, 12 terrorists were killed as a result of the measures taken.

The newspaper notes that the number of terrorist acts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province has increased in the last year. According to a report by Pakistan's Center for Security Studies, the number of fatalities in the province increased from 1620 in 2024 to 2331 in 2025.
