It is reported that issues concerning preparation for a possible war against Iran are being discussed in the Israeli parliament.

Modern.az reports that, according to information from Israeli state television “KAN”, Shai Klapper, Secretary of the Israeli Army's Home Front Command, presented a security assessment at a meeting of the Knesset's Foreign Affairs and Security Committee.

According to the information, the meeting primarily focused on possible attack scenarios on Israeli territory with missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles. Yedioth Ahronoth writes that Klapper's meeting with committee members was in the nature of a confidential security assessment, and the probabilities of the Iranian side preparing for missile and UAV launches were discussed.

Committee chairman, “Likud” party deputy Boaz Bismuth, stated in a declaration after the meeting that Israel is going through a difficult period regarding the Iran issue. According to him, there is almost no citizen in Israel who does not think several times a day about when an attack related to Iran might begin.

Bismuth claimed that Israeli society is in a state of readiness for possible scenarios and the country is striving to be prepared for any situation.

On the other hand, reports note that despite the ongoing negotiations between Iran and the US, an atmosphere of trust has not been established between the parties. It is reported that although there has been some progress on the nuclear issue, Tehran's refusal to discuss its ballistic missile program and support for “proxy forces” has diminished optimism in Washington.

According to the information, the possibility that the US–Iran negotiations held in Geneva could end in failure is being seriously considered in Israel. “Channel 12”, citing an Israeli official source, reports that the negotiations have reached a critical stage and Tel Aviv is making preparations for a possible collapse scenario.

The report also notes that a view has formed in Israel that US President Donald Trump keeps the option of an attack against Iran on the agenda, but first awaits the exhaustion of diplomatic possibilities to legitimize military action. For this reason, it is believed in Tel Aviv that time for diplomacy is running out and the country needs to be prepared “as if an attack could begin at any moment.”
