Former British Prince Prince Andrew has been arrested on charges of abuse of official powers.
Modern.az reports, citing the BBC, that the arrest is related to investigations conducted within the framework of the Jeffrey Epstein case.
It is reported that the investigation covers allegations regarding Prince Andrew's connections with Epstein, possible instances of abuse of his influence and position in the context of these relationships, as well as actions that could obstruct the investigation.
According to the information, new materials and testimonies that have emerged recently have led to the expansion of the investigation. Although Prince Andrew had previously confirmed his acquaintance with Epstein, he had not accepted the accusations against him.
It should be noted that today marks the 68th birthday of former Prince Andrew. His princely status has been revoked.
