Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov held discussions with his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi.
Modern.az reports that this was stated in a statement by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The ministers exchanged views on the current situation regarding Iran's nuclear program, including the results of the indirect US-Iran contacts held in Geneva.
It is noted that Russia reaffirmed its support for the negotiation process aimed at finding fair political and diplomatic solutions that respect Iran's legitimate rights, in accordance with the principles of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons.
In addition, specific bilateral issues of mutual interest were discussed during the conversation.
