According to the agency's information, there were a total of 9 people in the car. One of them was rescued. The location of the other passengers and the driver is being determined. Igor Kobzev, the governor of Irkutsk Oblast, stated that, according to preliminary information, the passengers have died. The Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Irkutsk has been informed about the incident.
Police officers and other emergency services were dispatched to the scene. In addition, specialists from the Baikal search and rescue team of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations for Irkutsk Oblast were sent to the area.
An investigation has been launched by the regional prosecutor's office.
