Modern.az reports that Volodymyr Zelensky stated this in an interview with AFP.
According to him, if a swift end to military operations in Kyiv is desired, Ukrainian troops must be withdrawn from Donbas.
Zelensky also highlighted the successes achieved by the Armed Forces on the southern front: “I will not go into details, but today I can, first and foremost, congratulate our army – all armed forces – because so far 300 square kilometers of territory have been liberated”.
AFP notes that, in addition to demands for territorial concessions, the US and Russia are pressuring Ukraine to hold presidential elections as part of a comprehensive peace agreement plan.
Zelensky stated that Ukraine's vote can only be held after the war ends, and Russia's demand for early elections aims to remove him from power: “Let's be honest, the Russians simply want to replace me”.
