Student protests have been held in several higher education institutions in Tehran.

Modern.az reports that the protests were accompanied by clashes.

According to the student union, students of the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences at Shahid Beheshti University in Tehran organized a sit-in in memory of those who lost their lives during the January protests and in support of the detained students.

Students of Amirkabir University of Technology, on the other hand, blocked the road near the campus after the protest. Images circulated on social media show them chanting the slogan “Don't be afraid, we are together!”. It is reported that during a meeting dedicated to the start of the new semester at the same university, some participants chanted the slogan “Long live the Shah!”.

Students also held a protest at Mashhad University of Medical Sciences, chanting the slogan “Freedom!”.

The protest held at Sharif University of Technology, however, turned into a confrontation. According to reports, tensions arose between members of the “Basij” volunteer forces and students. In circulated videos, protesters are heard chanting slogans such as “Shame!” and “Death to Khamenei!”.

Official statements regarding the incidents have not yet been released.
