The world's most dangerous drug lord has been killed.
Modern.az reports, citing foreign media, that Nemesio Rubén Oseguera Cervantes ("El Mencho"), leader of the Jalisco New Generation cartel in Mexico, has been killed.
He is reported to have been killed during a federal raid in Jalisco state.
According to information, he was the biggest drug lord involved in smuggling cocaine, methamphetamine, and fentanyl to the US, and diversifying his income through fuel theft and oil smuggling.
Following the raid, criminal groups caused widespread fires and blocked roads in Jalisco and the neighboring states of Michoacán and Guanajuato.
Following the incident, the US issued a warning to its citizens in Jalisco state, where tourist destinations such as Puerto Vallarta and Guadalajara are located, as well as in areas within the states of Tamaulipas, Michoacán, Guerrero, and Nuevo León, urging them to leave the area or seek shelter.
Amidst the unrest, the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Mexico City appealed to its compatriots residing in the country.
The diplomatic mission urged Azerbaijani citizens to be vigilant, adhere to personal security measures, avoid large crowds and dangerous areas, and rely only on official sources of information.
