The political forces of former President Robert Kocharyan, as well as Samvel Karapetyan and Gagik Tsarukyan, must be prevented from coming to power.
Modern.az reports that Ruben Rubinyan, Vice-Speaker of the Armenian Parliament, stated this in a statement to journalists.
"We are confident that Kocharyan and the two oligarchs coming to power would be a bad thing, and this must be prevented. It is true that their election is not a crime in itself, but let them be elected fairly," Rubinyan said.
He noted that Vardan Ghukasyan's election as Mayor of Gyumri occurred thanks to the cooperation of the forces of Kocharyan, Karapetyan, and Serzh Sargsyan.
The Vice-Speaker believes that during the government formed by Kocharyan, Karapetyan, and Tsarukyan, no one will be held accountable for corruption.
“Both during their time in power and now, they will not allow the law enforcement system to do its job. So, how can this scenario be prevented? People should not vote for Kocharyan,” Rubinyan noted.
He stated that the media should finally burn all bridges with Robert Kocharyan, Serzh Sargsyan, his son-in-law, and various oligarchs, and switch to independent financing.
Rubinyan added that the Armenian people must burn all bridges with Robert Kocharyan and Russian oligarchs on June 7 to prevent the return of corruption and threats to peace, and to ensure that parliament becomes a normal platform for political discussions.
Samvel Karapetyan has been nominated for prime minister by the “Strong Armenia” Party.
Gagik Tsarukyan, leader of the “Prosperous Armenia” Party, will participate in the parliamentary elections to be held in June with the “Proposal for Armenia” platform.
Former President Robert Kocharyan stated that there is a possibility of forming a large opposition bloc in the elections.
It should be recalled that parliamentary elections in Armenia will be held on June 7.
