Iran has stated that it does not want war with the US, but will respond harshly if attacked.
Modern.az reports that Iran's Minister of Defense, Aziz Nasirzadeh, stated this during a meeting with his Armenian counterpart, Suren Papikyan.
He noted that official Tehran is not seeking war, but if confrontation is forcibly imposed, the country will defend itself with all its might and “teach enemies a lesson that will not be erased from memory”.
Previously, US President Donald Trump called on Iran to reach an agreement, otherwise warning of “dire consequences”.
Meanwhile, Iranian government spokesperson Fatemeh Mohajerani emphasized that Tehran prefers diplomacy over war.
Against the backdrop of possible military operations, the US has deployed over 150 fighter jets to bases in the Middle East and Europe. The publication assesses the current US military presence in the region as one of the most extensive deployments since the 2003 Iraq War.
