The US has deployed over 150 aircraft and one-third of its fleet to Iran.
Modern.az reports that "The Washington Post" disseminated information on this matter, citing air resources and satellite imagery.
It was noted that the current US military presence in the region is at the same level as during the 2003 Iraq War.
According to the information, there are dozens of aircraft on the USS Gerald R. Ford aircraft carrier, which is located at the US base in Crete. This is the second aircraft carrier deployed to the Middle East. The publication notes that, consequently, approximately one-third of US ships are currently in the region.
"The scale of this concentrated force means that the US military can implement any decision made by Trump, from a sustained, highly effective campaign to more targeted, limited strikes," said Dana Stroul, research director at the Washington Institute and former Pentagon official.
