Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian expressed satisfaction with the progress in the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan and called it a positive step for regional security and cooperation.
Modern.az reports that Pezeshkian voiced these views during a meeting with Armenian Defense Minister Suren Papikyan in Tehran.
“We must act through constructive interaction to build a world where peoples live in peace, mutual respect, and tranquil conditions,” he stated.
The President also noted that Iran is ready to expand relations with neighboring countries, especially Armenia, and is working towards the completion of a comprehensive strategic partnership document between Tehran and Yerevan.
For his part, Suren Papikyan emphasized successful cooperation in the fields of defense, economy, and transport and noted the strategic importance of partnership with neighboring Iran.
