The Donald Trump administration, unlike previous administrations, pays more attention to relations with Central Asian and South Caucasus countries.
Modern.az reports that this was stated by U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Economic Affairs, Jacob Helberg, during hearings held in Congress.
According to him, Washington has adopted an active cooperation policy with countries historically overlooked. As a result of this approach, the signing of bilateral agreements with Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan Armenia was emphasized.
Helberg delivered his speech at the U.S. House of Representatives Foreign Affairs Committee during hearings held on the topic of “Promoting National Security Through Commercial Diplomacy.” He noted that the new administration considers economic cooperation tools as an important element of its national security strategy.
