In the state of Minas Gerais in southeastern Brazil, the death toll in floods caused by heavy rains has reached 40, and 27 people are still missing.
Modern.az reports that, in the cities of Juiz de Fora and Uba, floods and landslides have left approximately 3,600 people homeless. Local and federal authorities are providing assistance and shelter to the victims.
The city of Juiz de Fora in the state recorded this February as the month with the most rainfall in history. During the floods, many houses were destroyed and human lives were endangered. (Reuters)
