At the “Akhurik” border crossing point, located on the Armenia-Turkey border, Russian border guards have been replaced by Armenian servicemen.
Modern.az reports that the Armenian press has disseminated information regarding this.
Regarding the implementation of the Armenian government's 2021–2026 program, it is stated in the report adopted by the Cabinet of Ministers that as of March 1, 2025, service at the “Margara” crossing point located on the border with Turkey is carried out solely by servicemen of the Border Troops of the National Security Service (NSS) of Armenia.
The document notes that from the beginning of 2026, service at the “Akhurik” border crossing point as well is fully carried out by the Border Troops of the NSS of Armenia. Currently, all crossing points operating on Armenia's borders are under the full control of the country's border troops.
