A soldier from military unit N in Armenia's Gegharkunik region has died.
Modern.az reports, citing Armenian media, that the Ministry of Defense has not issued an official statement on the matter, but photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan has declared that a murder occurred.
“On February 26, a murder occurred using a firearm at one of the combat positions located in the Gegharkunik region.
The Gegharkunik regional military police of the Military Police of the Armenian Ministry of Defense received operational information that a soldier died as a result of gunfire. It was confirmed on site that the received information was reliable.
Employees of the Military Police and investigators from the Investigative Committee arrived at the scene.
The deceased soldier is 19-year-old Narek Hakobyan, a resident of Abovyan.
The identity of the suspect is known, and he has been found,” Armenia's Shamshyan.com website reported.
