Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning stated that her country supports Iran in protecting its legitimate interests and rights.
Modern.az reports, citing foreign media, that Mao Ning made this statement at a press conference held in Beijing.
Touching upon the situation in the Middle East, Ning stated that her country believes that problems should be resolved through diplomatic means and opposes the use of force or threats.
Ning added: "We hope that all parties will value peace, demonstrate restraint, and resolve differences through dialogue."
It should be recalled that the situation around Iran is becoming increasingly tense. The US launching air strikes on Iran is currently under discussion within the Washington Administration.
