Ukraine and the Russian Federation have agreed on a local ceasefire for the repair of the high-voltage power line supplying the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant.

Modern.az reports on this, referring to information on the International Atomic Energy Agency's (IAEA) 'Twitter' account.

The IAEA's statement says: “Through the mediation of the IAEA, another local ceasefire has come into effect, which will allow for the restoration of the 330 kV backup power supply to the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant.”

The Agency's Director General, Rafael Grossi, also stated that demining operations are continuing in the area where repair work is being carried out, and this should ensure safe access for the teams working there.

It should be recalled that several local ceasefires have been declared between Ukraine and Russia in recent months, and during that period, repair teams restored damaged power lines. (AzərTac)
