The US company OpenAI is reportedly holding talks with the Pentagon for possible cooperation.
Modern.az reports that, according to information, the company's CEO Sam Altman stated in a note sent to employees that they are exploring the possibility of an agreement that would allow the use of models in classified environments, but would exclude applications such as internal control and autonomous offensive weapons.
This process has come to the fore against the backdrop of tensions between Anthropic and the Pentagon. Restrictions on the use of Anthropic's “Claude” model for military purposes have caused dissatisfaction between the parties.
According to sources, no official agreement has been signed yet, and there is a possibility that the talks may fail. Altman, however, emphasized that they remain committed to the principle of democratic oversight in cooperation with governments. (TRT Haber)
