Mohammed Raad, head of the “Hezbollah” bloc in the Lebanese parliament, was killed as a result of a strike by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on Beirut.

Modern.az reports that Al Hadath TV channel disseminated this information.

According to the information, Israeli fighter jets targeted objects belonging to the Shiite movement “Hezbollah” in the southern suburbs of the Lebanese capital. The aircraft delivered at least ten strikes on ground targets.

Raad's death was recorded against the backdrop of Lebanese President Joseph Aoun's confirmation that the launch of missiles into Israel “dealt a blow to efforts aimed at protecting Lebanon from regional conflict.”

Previously, “Hezbollah” had declared that it took responsibility for attacks on Israel in response to the killing of Iran's supreme religious leader Ali Khamenei.

According to Al Hadath, on March 2, residents of southern Lebanese villages massively left their homes after Israeli strikes. The strikes were carried out after “Hezbollah” launched missiles into Israel. By decision of the Ministry of Education in Lebanon, all schools and educational institutions were also closed.

It should be recalled that on February 28, Israel and the United States carried out strikes on Iran. As a result, Iran's supreme leader Ali Khamenei, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council Admiral Ali Shamkhani, IRGC Commander-in-Chief Mohammad Pakpour, and other high-ranking officials were killed. In response, Iran attacked Israel and US military bases located in the Middle East. The temporary execution of the duties of Iran's supreme leader has been entrusted to Alireza Arafi. He will hold this post until a new supreme leader of the country is elected.
