The Israel Defense Forces confirmed that it had carried out strikes on Tehran, the capital of Iran, and Beirut, the capital of Lebanon.
Modern.az reports that the statement reads: "The IDF is currently simultaneously striking military targets in Tehran and Beirut".
The strikes occurred shortly after the Israeli army issued an "urgent warning" to residents of Beirut's southern suburbs and dozens of villages, urging them to evacuate.
The IDF had previously stated that the targets of the strikes were command centers and warehouses belonging to the Iranian-backed Hezbollah group.
