Iranian fighters were shot down by Qatari F-15 aircraft two minutes before hitting the US military base.
Modern.az reports that CNN reported this, citing unnamed sources.
According to a source, Soviet-era Su-24 tactical bomber aircraft belonging to the Revolutionary Guards were found to be carrying bombs and guided munitions to Al Udeid, where 10,000 US soldiers are stationed, and to the Ras Laffan natural gas processing complex in Qatar, and were not responding to radio communications.
Officials stated that the aircraft crashed in Qatari territorial waters and the search for the crews is ongoing.
