“This is not our war.”
Modern.az reports that Russian President's press secretary Dmitry Peskov answered a question about whether Russia should somehow influence the events in the Middle East.
“We must do what is in our interests. We must minimize the impact of the global upheavals we are currently seeing begin on our economy. We must secure benefits for ourselves wherever possible, however cynical that may sound,” Peskov said.
He emphasized that Russia cannot stop the war in the Middle East, because “only the party that started this war can stop it, and in our opinion, they should do so.”
