Due to internet restrictions in Iran, collecting information about the situation in the country has become difficult. Nevertheless, according to available information, streets in large cities like Tehran and Isfahan are considerably quiet, and enhanced security measures are being implemented.
Modern.az reports that a Tehran resident, speaking to the BBC, stated that he left his home for the first time in five days and went to Neft Street, where government buildings are located.
According to him, he covered a distance that normally takes two hours due to heavy traffic in a very short time on this occasion.
The resident, who wished to remain anonymous, said that security forces have set up checkpoints in the city, and Iranşəhr Street, usually full of cafes, was almost completely empty.
Another Tehran resident likened the atmosphere in the city to the pandemic period. According to him, people are living in fear and uncertainty, but at the same time, they hope that the situation will eventually end and life will return to normal.
