Two influential Ayatollahs of Iran have demanded the acceleration of the elections for the new Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic.
Modern.az reports that this information is stated in Tasnim's report.
According to Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi, the timely resolution of this important issue will strengthen national authority and improve the overall organization of affairs.
In a message addressed to the members of the Assembly of Experts, Makarem Shirazi called for accelerating the election of the Supreme Leader.
In turn, Ayatollah Nouri Hamadani emphasized that he expects the acceleration of the inauguration ceremony for Iran's new Supreme Leader.
Ayatollah Hamadani believes that this will "simultaneously allow for defeating the enemy and preserving the national unity and solidarity currently existing within the country, as well as supporting the strong armed forces that defend Iran from aggressors."
In this regard, he appealed to the Assembly of Experts, urging them to make an urgent decision: “God willing, everyone will abide by this decision.”
On March 4, Iran's Assembly of Experts began the process of electing the country's new leader. The final decision regarding the successor will be announced through the Council Secretariat.
