Iraq's Shia leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Sistani has issued a fatwa for the purpose of defending the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Modern.az reports that this was stated in the statement of the press service of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
The IRGC's press service statement reads: "Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Sistani, one of Iraq's highest Shia religious leaders, in response to a religious inquiry from one of his followers, emphasized the necessity of collective jihad to defend the Islamic Republic of Iran."
Some time ago, Iran's Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi had announced the start of jihad against the US and Israel in response to the escalating conflict between Iran and Western countries. Now, Iraq's Ayatollah Ali Sistani, joining the calls of Shia religious leaders, has issued a fatwa regarding the necessity of collective jihad to defend the Islamic Revolution of Iran.
