The US is evacuating a portion of its consulate staff in Turkey's Adana city.
Modern.az reports that the State Department has issued a statement regarding this.
"Non-essential personnel of the US consulate in Adana (Southern Turkey) and family members of consulate employees will be evacuated."
Security risks amid the escalating conflict with Iran are cited as the reason. The State Department maintains its travel advisory for Turkey at Level 2 ("exercise increased caution").
It should be recalled that Adana city is located near the Syrian border and is an important logistics hub in the region.
