Iran's Ambassador to Ankara, Mohammad Hassan Habibollazadeh, was summoned to the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) regarding a ballistic missile launched from Iranian territory and shot down after entering Turkish airspace.
Modern.az reports that Ankara's concern regarding the incident was conveyed to the ambassador.
Official Ankara demanded an explanation from Tehran.
It should be noted that Turkey's Ministry of National Defense announced that a ballistic missile launched from Iran on March 9 was destroyed. According to the institution, the trajectory of the Iranian missile passed through Turkish airspace. The missile was destroyed by NATO forces stationed in the Eastern Mediterranean. Its remnants fell in an uninhabited area south of Gaziantep province. There were no casualties or injuries.
Another incident involving the launch of a ballistic missile from Iran occurred on March 4.
