A “Patriot” system will be deployed in Turkey's Malatya province for the protection of its airspace.
Modern.az reports that the Turkish Ministry of National Defense has issued a statement regarding this.
“In addition to the measures we have taken at the national level, air and missile defense measures have been increased by NATO. Within this framework, a “Patriot” system designated to support the protection of our airspace is being deployed in Malatya”, - the statement noted.
It should be noted that “Patriot” systems (MIM-104) are radar-based, mobile, long-range air defense systems used against tactical ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and modern aircraft.
