Russia wants to create a 20-kilometer "buffer zone" along the border in Ukraine's Sumy and Kharkiv regions, and is therefore seizing border villages.

Modern.az reports that this was stated by Mykhailo Drapatyi, Commander of the Ukrainian Joint Forces Group.

"We have 12 identified areas where the assault unit of the Russian Armed Forces will try to expand its control zone. These include the Krasnopilsky, Velyka Pysarivka, and Zolochiv directions", - Drapatyi stated.
