“Iran did not start the war and does not wish to continue it.”
Modern.az reports that Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated this during a phone conversation with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Pezeshkian stated that Iran is not a proponent of war but is taking steps within the framework of its right to self-defense.
“Iran did not start the war and does not wish to continue it. However, within the framework of its legitimate right to self-defense, US bases in the region, which are the source of the attack, have been targeted,” he emphasized.
According to the Iranian President, Tehran does not intend to create instability in the region, and in this regard, it is important for BRICS countries to play a more active role in preserving regional peace, stability, and security.
