After the attacks launched by the US and Israel against Iran on February 28, the number of deaths in the Middle East has exceeded two thousand.
Modern.az reports that, according to official data released by various countries, thousands of people have lost their lives in the region as a result of the war.
According to the latest information from Iran's state media, at least 1270 people have died in the country. However, Iran's ambassador to the UN stated on March 6 that the number of deaths since the start of the war has reached at least 1332. It is unknown whether these figures include the 104 people reportedly killed on March 4 as a result of a US attack on an Iranian warship near the coast of Sri Lanka.
In Israel, 12 people have reportedly died so far. Nine of them were killed on March 1 as a result of an Iranian missile strike on the city of Beit Shemesh near Jerusalem. Additionally, the Israeli army announced the deaths of two of its soldiers in southern Lebanon.
The US side reported the deaths of 13 of its soldiers. Six of them lost their lives on Friday as a result of a US military aircraft crash over Iraq. The other seven soldiers were killed in combat during operations against Iran.
According to Lebanese authorities, at least 687 people have died in the country as a result of Israeli strikes. The World Health Organization states that at least 98 children are among the deceased.
Casualties have also been recorded in the Persian Gulf countries. Approximately 20 people are reported to have died in these countries as a result of Iranian attacks. Among them are two people killed by a projectile that hit a residential area in the city of Al-Kharj, located southeast of Saudi Arabia's capital, Riyadh.
As the confrontation in the region continues, the number of deaths is expected to increase.
