The US government has announced that it is offering a reward of up to 10 million dollars to those who provide information about high-ranking Iranian officials.
Modern.az reports that the reward announcement was issued by the US State Department's “Rewards for Justice” (Rewards for Justice) program.
According to the information, the reward is specifically intended for information about Mojtaba Khamenei, who is presented as Iran's new Supreme Leader, and high-ranking officials in his close circle. The US side claims that these individuals played a role in the planning and management of international terrorist activities through the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
Among the individuals for whom information is sought are the following:
Ali Asghar Hejazi – Deputy Head of the Supreme Leader's Office
Yahya Rahim Safavi – military advisor, major general
Ali Larijani – Advisor to the Supreme Leader
Iskandar Momeni – Iran's Minister of Interior
Ismail Khatib – Iran's Minister of Intelligence and Security
The US also stated that it has gathered information about four high-ranking officials of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps whose names and photos have not been disclosed. It is noted that these include individuals holding positions such as Secretary of the Defense Council, Head of the Supreme Leader's Military Office, and Advisor to the Supreme Leader.
US officials have stated that the information provided may not only result in a reward. At the same time, the safe relocation of the informant to another country may also be ensured.
