Taiwan's Ministry of National Defense announced that 26 Chinese military aircraft and 7 naval vessels belonging to the Chinese army were observed around the island.

Modern.az reports that, according to information released by the Ministry, 16 of these aircraft entered Taiwan's Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ).

The official statement indicated that Chinese military aircraft operated in the northern, central, and southwestern directions of Taiwan. The Taiwanese Armed Forces closely monitored the situation, and in response, air patrol aircraft, naval forces, and air defense systems were put on alert.

The Ministry emphasized that China's military activity is considered one of the main factors increasing security tensions in the region recently. The Taipei administration views Beijing's actions as pressure and a show of military force.

In recent years, the frequent military exercises conducted by the Chinese army around Taiwan and the entry of fighter jets into the ADIZ have led to increased tension in the region. Beijing considers Taiwan a part of its territory and opposes the island's independence-oriented policies. Taiwan, however, effectively possesses an independent governance system and continues its military preparations to protect its security.

From a geopolitical perspective, the Taiwan Strait is considered one of the most sensitive security points in the Asia-Pacific region, and military activity occurring there is closely monitored by the international community.
