Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II has been admitted to the Caucasus Medical Center due to the deterioration of his health and is under medical observation.

Ilia II's condition worsened further last night. According to Minister of Health Mikheil Sarjveladze and doctors, the Catholicos-Patriarch has undergone examinations and all necessary medical procedures.
Mamuka Mdinaradze, the head of the State Security Service, also visited him.
“Considering his age and all other factors, the situation is difficult. The patient is currently in the intensive care unit, under observation, and necessary measures are being taken to quickly restore all vital signs. Of course, monitoring will continue,” Minister Sarjveladze stated.
According to Ilia II's doctor, the patient was hospitalized with massive gastric bleeding. He has undergone relevant medical diagnostic procedures. His condition requires special attention; his hemodynamics are unstable.
