Iran's Ambassador to Russia, Kazem Jalali, denied reports that the new Supreme Leader was in Moscow for treatment.

Modern.az reports that he wrote in a Facebook post: "The news of the Supreme Leader of the Revolution being transferred to Russia for treatment is a new psychological warfare."

The ambassador added that "Iranian leaders do not need to flee and hide in shelters; their place is in the streets, among the people."

He also recalled an Iranian proverb: "The habit of lying never leaves a liar's mind, but an Iranian proverb says that a liar's memory is short and forgetful."

A day earlier, Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov refused to comment on reports regarding Khamenei's possible arrival in Moscow.

The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the new Supreme Leader was injured in US-Israeli attacks, but his condition is satisfactory.

Mojtaba Khamenei was elected as Iran's new Supreme Leader on February 28, following the killing of his father, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, in US and Israeli airstrikes. The US has offered a reward of up to $10 million for information leading to Iran's new leader and other key officials.
