Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever announced that he would resign from his post if the coalition he leads loses its decision-making ability, amid rising tensions and disputes over energy policy in the country.
Modern.az reports that local media has published information on this matter.
According to news released by the Flemish public broadcaster “VRT NWS”, De Wever stated that he would not remain in the position of Prime Minister if the coalition became unmanageable and political deadlock increased. “If this government can no longer make decisions, I will not continue in my role as Prime Minister,” De Wever stated.
The Prime Minister also warned against political deadlocks within the government: “I cannot accept any party's red lines. If this continues, we will fall into stagnation like the Vivaldi coalition,” De Wever stated. These words from the Prime Minister are related to the coalition's difficulty in continuing discussions on postponed reforms and differing positions.
